RRV launches new wine brand, chester., which supports local animal rescue.
Chester was rescued off the streets of Baltimore City and brought to live at Russian River Vineyards. He was a very social dog and loved to greet guests and accompany them on tours of the RRV estate.
Chester was a German Short-Haired Pointer and Lab mix who lived every adventure and relished every new experience. He loved the winery, the vineyards, the river and he loved his people. Chester loved to sit with folks by a fire and listen to the conversations. He loved to kayak, and fish and hike. Chester would love the folks that love his wine. His favorite words from his people were, “Let’s go!.”
RRV is donating a portion of all chester. wine and merchandise sales to support the Dogwood Animal Rescue Project.

Dogwood Animal Rescue is a non-profit animal-rescue organization located in Sonoma County, CA. They are foster-based, meaning animals are not held in a shelter but are cared for in the homes of our volunteers until adopted. Dogwood’s Mission: To support animals and the people who love them through rescue, rehoming, spay/neuter and education.
In 2015, a group dedicated animal lovers and veteran rescuers looked around at the state of things in Sonoma County and thought, what can we do to help? Dogwood Animal Rescue was born, with the mission to provide support to animals by rescuing, rehoming and helping animals in need of spay and neuter, and providing education about animal welfare to the community. Since then, all-volunteer Dogwood has made a life-saving difference to hundreds of dogs and cats, whether by giving them a safety net when they lost their homes, delivering medical care to critters in need, and providing free or low cost spay/neuters to underserved rural areas in the county.
RRV and Dogwood have had multiple fundraising events at RRV and will be having a Happy Hour to raise money for this cause on June 14th, 2023. We would love you and your dogs there!
